The Domaine des Roches Neuves, led by Thierry Germain, is one of the leading estates in the Loire Valley, particularly within the Saumur-Champigny appellation. Located in Varrains, at the heart of a region known for its limestone and tuffeau soils, the domaine has built a strong reputation for its precise, elegant wines and its deep respect for terroir.

Since taking over the estate in the 1990s, Thierry Germain has progressively converted the vineyards to organic and then biodynamic farming, with the goal of expressing the purest possible character of the soil and climate. Careful vineyard management, low yields, and hand harvesting ensure grapes of outstanding quality, achieving optimal ripeness while maintaining freshness and balance.

The domaine is especially renowned for its red wines made from Cabernet Franc, the emblematic grape of the region, which here produces wines of finesse, structure, and aromatic precision. The white wines, crafted from Chenin Blanc, are equally impressive, offering tension, minerality, and depth.

In the cellar, the approach is minimalist and carefully controlled: natural fermentations, gentle extraction, and aging tailored to each cuvée, often in large oak vats or barrels, in order to preserve balance and the identity of each wine.
