Domaine Gallety
This is a familial vineyard, located in Saint Montan, in Ardèche. Alain Gallety and his son, David-Alexandre, run rigorously together the vineyard, from cultivation to marketing.
Alain Gallety’s father bought the vineyard in 1974. The first wine came out in 1978. A tremendous work has been done to select grape varieties and cultivation and vinification methods, and is still in progress today.
The vines are spread over 37 sloping and contiguous acres, located on a hill next to the Rhône River. The plot has a south-east exposure and the vines are planted on a clay and limestone soil. Organic grapes are cultivated using biodynamics.
The main grape varieties are Grenache and Syrah when it comes to red wines.
The vintage is handmade. The grapes are selected and partially destalked. The outcome is always clear. We consider this vineyard as the best of the Côtes du Vivarais appellation.
