Provence
The Provence vineyard reflects the culture of Greek Antiquity. The vineyard is made up of nine appellations d’origine contrôlées (AOC, controlled designation of origin): Côtes-de-Provence, Côteaux-d’Aix-en-Provence, Côteaux-des-Baux-de-Provence, Côteaux-Varois-en-Provence, Pierrevert, Bandol, Bellet, Cassis and Palette. The vineyard is spread on 84 towns (located between Avignon and Nice) on 67,000 acres in total; the production is equal to 1,000,000 hectolitres of wine.
