Domaine La Cabotte 

The cabotte is a dry stone shelter, built to withstand adverse weather conditions. Gabriel d’Ardhuy owns the Domaine d’Ardhuy in Burgundy and has taken over this 111 contiguous acre vineyard in 1981. It is located within the Massif d’Uchaux, in the South Côtes du Rhône. He took it over because he is passionate for Provence and for the Rhône valley wines. Marie-Pierre, one of his seven daughters, has been then entrusted with it. She has partially restored the terroir, reshaping old terraces and giving back the vineyard its true vocation: vines. 74 acres of vines, perfectly exposed, enabling a premium quality winemaking process, are now cultivated. She has been joined by her husband since then. They keep on resuscitating this terroir, while preserving its genuineness and originality. It should be noted that a special focus is put on the respect for nature and environment, thanks to organic farming and biodynamics. In 2005, the vineyard has bought a Châteauneuf du Pape plot. We still have attractive surprises in store!
