Grande Chartreuse Liqueur du 9ème Centenaire 70cl 47% photo non contractuelle
A cousin of the Green Chartreuse, the "Liqueur du 9ème Centenaire" shares similar characteristics. However, it is marketed in a special anniversary bottle adorned with the seal of the Carthusian Fathers. It was introduced to the public in 1984 to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the founding of the Grande Chartreuse, established in 1084. It is made from 130 plants. Less commonly used in cocktails, it is generally enjoyed chilled in a liqueur glass with an ice cube.
To end a great meal, dessert may well be the best invention of all. Crème brûlée is certainly a staple among sweet delights. We fall for it as we crack the golden caramelized sugar on top. Brought back into the spotlight by the film Amélie, many people, with a smile on their lips, joyfully break its crust with their spoon. To accompany it — or even flambé it — there's nothing better than a glass of Liqueur du 9ème Centenaire from the Grande Chartreuse.
